میں اگر آپ سے ایک ایسا کام کرنے کیلئے کہوں کہ جس میں آپکو ایک ایسے فرد کے ساتھ رہنا پڑے جو اپنے من کا موجی ہو، جب جی میں آئے کھائے جب جی چاہے نہ کھائے، جب دل کرے سو جائے اور جب دل کرے اٹھ جائے اور نہ صرف اٹھ جائے بلکہ آپکو بھی سوتے میں سے اُٹھا دے. اس کے تمام ناز نخرے اٹھانے کی ڈیوٹی نبھانی ہے بِنا پیسے! کر پائیں گے؟
کیا خیال ہے ایک ایسے انسان کے ساتھ رہنے کا جو اپنے چلبلے پن سے آپکو پریشان کر کے رکھ دے، کبھی چیزوں کو توڑ دے تو کبھی قیمتی اشیاء کو نقصان پہنچا دے، کبھی دوسروں کو تو کبھی خود کو نقصان پہنچا دے. کیا آپ رہ پائیں گے؟
کیا رویہ ہونا چاہئے ایسے انسان کیلئے جو اپنی پڑھائی کرنے کیلئے آپ سے تمام مدد لے اور آپکی جان کھا جائے لیکن جب کامیابی سے ہمکنار ہو تو آپکو بھول کر اس کامیابی کا سارا کریڈٹ بس خود کو دے. اپنے آپ کو سیلف میڈ کا تمغہ پہنائے بلکہ اس سب پر بھی آپکو اس کو مبارک دینا پڑے.
اور کیا آپ رہ پائیں گے ایسے انسان کیساتھ جو نوکری کر کے گھر آئے تو اس طرح رویہ رکھے جیسے اس نے کوئی بہت بڑا معرکہ سرانجام دیا ہو، اپنے سارے کام آپ سے کروائے، یہاں تک کہ پانی بھی آپکو اسے پیش کرنا پڑے اور شاید اس پر بھی وہ آپکا شکریہ ادا کرنے کے بجاۓ اعتراضات کرے کہ پانی ٹھنڈا کیوں نہیں اور کھانے میں نمک کیوں برابر نہیں؟ تو کیا آپ میں اس قدر برداشت ہے کہ اس سے مسکرا کر کہ سکیں کہ چلو کل پانی بھی ٹھنڈا ہوگا اور نمک بھی برابر ...
میرا خیال ہے بہت سے لوگ کہیں گے کہ ایسے بدتمیز، اکھڑ مزاج، ناشکرے انسان کی پرواہ کرنے سے بہتر ہے کہ پہلی فرصت میں اس انسان پر لعنت بھیجی جائے ..
اور اگر میں کہوں کہ یہ کام ایک نہیں بلکہ دنیا میں ہزاروں، لاکھوں انسان ان ہی طرح کے افراد کیلئے یہ کام کر رہے ہیں، اور بہت خوش اسلوبی سے ذمہداریاں اور خدمات نبھا رہے ہیں!
یقیناً آپکا جواب ہوگا کہ کوئی پاگل ہی یہ کام کرسکتا ہے!

اس جذبہ کا کچھ بھی نام رکھ دیں پاگل پن یا پھر "مامتا". دنیا بھر میں لاکھوں ہزاروں مائیں اپنے بچوں کے اس طرح کے رویہ، بدتمیزی، اکھڑ مزاجی، موڈی پن اور ناشکرے مزاج کو سہتی ہیں مگر پھر بھی جواب میں صرف محبت ہی محبت لٹاتی جاتیں ہیں، ہمارے بچپن میں اپنی نیندوں کو قربان کرکے، ہمارے لڑکپنے میں ہماری شرارتوں کو برداشت کرکے،جوانی میں ہمارے سخت رویّوں کو سہہ کر، اور بڑے ہوجانے پر ہمارے حاکمانہ رویّہ کو دیکھ کر، پھر بھی جواب میں ہمیں محبت، اچھی تربیت، ہماری دنیا اور آخرت سدھا دینے کی لگن لئے، کیا اس دنیا میں اس طرح کے رشتے کی اور کوئی مثال موجود ہے؟

یا پھر شاید کوئی اور اتنا "پاگل" نہیں

Behind the Fog

It was a gloomy day, when both of them are walking carelessly in the yellow fields, when he suddenly said, 

“I am going to do it!”

He looked startlingly into his eyes, “What are you talking about?” 

He said, “I am going to look up in the sky”.

“No”, he resisted, “You might be dead if you do that. The wrath from the sky will kill you”.

“Who is ever killed?” he asked, “tell me one good reason why I shouldn’t see. Tell me why?” 

He was speechless. But he refrain him to do it through the gesture of his eyes. At last he looked up.  The sky was fine, it look pleasant in the morning the blue sky with some cloudy touch. After some time he looked to his friend who was watching frighteningly standing few feet away from him. He came to him and said, “Look! I said nothing will happen”.  He said, “Why you looked up the sky. You know when the emperor knows what he will do? He will kill you! He certainly will”. 

“I am not afraid. If the sky has allowed me to look at it. Who is the emperor then to stop me! I am ready to face anyone. Now look up, I am with you, trust me”, at last he gathered all his heart and looked up. He opened his eyes slowly, the sky was blue, birds were flying, and the air stream was cool. He smiled and said, “I am with you let us go to the village and tell everyone”.

They run to the village, where everyone was walking looking at the ground. They said we have done it, they are screaming with joy. They villagers look surprisingly at them, some of them understood what they are talking about, they started shouting “Look up the sky is wonderful, look the birds are flying, look at the clouds, and look at the sunshine”.

The priest came out of the house and warned them, “The wrath will punish you”. They said, “We have done it and we are happy, we know the wrath will not punish us, we know the sky accepted our action”. The priest opened the holy book but can not find any single order which restrict them to look up in the sky. The priest too looked up, he raised his hands. Seeing this all villagers looked up in the sky one by one, they screamed with happiness and joy. 

The emperor came out of the house, he shouted, he told the guards to detain the villagers. But the guards refused as they were staring at the sky, they were stunned by the beauty of the sky. The emperor ran as the myth has been broken and his emperorship is no more. The villagers captured the emperor’s house.

Look up! The sky is blue, the birds are flying, colors of life are blooming, the flowers looked even more beautiful. Look up! Look up!

Main Idea: Long ago I read a translation of a story which has been translated from some other language to Urdu, I re-write the story again keeping the same concept in mind. Reaction to the Lawn Billboards in Karachi

As soon as the arrival of summer, the whole city was filled with the billboards which are being used for the promotion and advertisement of the female lawn clothing. This time many lawn manufacturers had appointed out of the box marketing techniques and filled the whole city with the pictures of female model showing lawn prints on their body. Since the start of the first billboard placed by a garment manufacturer the competition started and then one after another all clothing brands put their billboard on the streets. They are of various sizes, some are small that are placed on all the poles along the whole street, while some are huge, irrespective of the size they have all in one thing common and that is the picture of female models, in immodest clothing.

Normally Pakistani environment is modest, people have values and they can compromise to some extent, but yet enough is enough, very soon the reaction form the local public has been seen the social media was filled with the criticism on this boards vulgarity, some protest has been done, but the major thing which we have seen is the two major actions.

One, in counter to the lawn billboards, an organization Working Women Society (WWS) has placed billboards at various points in the city, which shows small meaningful messages like, “Kapray Becho, Ghairat Nahe” (Sell Garments, Not Morals), “We appreciate those who so not use female model in their advertisement”, and many similar sentences. Another activity shown by the Tanzim e Islami, they also placed some boards in the city central points to convey their message on the said issue.

Two, another reaction shown from the public against the billboards, people noticed there are many boards in the city with female model on them in improper clothing are blackened. Overnight many billboards have been blackened by permanent ink. This was another reaction in counter to the immodest billboards, which show pure aggression from the public that they want no more immodest billboards.

According to the Hadith by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) he mentioned three level of belief when a person sees a wrong act:

The highest level of Eeman, stop it by hand (i.e. by force)

Second level, if you cant stop it by hands, stop it by word

Third and the lowest level of Eeman, if you have no courage to stop it by word, then in your heart you must believe it as inadequate act 

In the fight against the modest and immodest, the good the bad, the liberal and the conservation, we have to see that what degree of Eeman (belief) we are following. Where we are standing, the highest or the lowest, or if we are included in this act, it will be lower than the lowest. Think!

The Frog Story: Speak life to people you cross!

Ever heard the story of that tiny little frog? Some frogs planned a race, this race was from the bottom to the highest peak of a mountain. They all prepared for it, a man called the ready, steady and Go". When the race start some of them stopped they don't even bothered to try, as the time passes, the crowd start chanting that these small creatures can never make it to the top. Many of them who are still in high tempo continue their struggle but after some time, they also start collapsing, the crowd was still chanting and raising slogans that, "They can not make it, the mountain is very high for them they can never make it, they are just a bunch of tiny frogs, huh, how can even think of it". Many frogs collapsed one after another, when a very few left the mountain peak is still very high, they were trying hard to reach the top when suddenly all of them collapsed except a very tin frog, who was still running upwards and jumping as hard as he
could, the crowd again started screaming, "you can not make it little one, you will hurt yourself, come down". The frog keep on jumping and running, the crowd was astonished to see it near the peak and then on the top of the peak. Everyone was amazed to see that a tiny frog had done it. The winner was asked how he could manage to do it, the frog not answered; people thought he might don't want to share the secret of success but sooner they found out that the little frog was DEAF!

When we are taking a very risky step, a word in appreciation will be enough to motivate us and we can accomplish whatever we can do. But if a person is already down and demotivated, then a single negative word can make him fall down.
Haven't we got a good moral form the story above? Be deaf for the pessimists! Sadly even friends can make you collapse sometimes (maybe too much caring is not so good). In workplace you might counter to this situation when you will hear rumors about your reputation getting wrong or you might be going for a target when all are saying that you can't do to, but why care if you are doing your job with honesty and carefully monitoring all your responsibilities. In our lives, we have to make decisions, sometimes we have to counter this type of situation, the best practice is follow what is good, what will benefit you and other.
If the action you are going to take will benefit you, the society and environment, then go for it, never think of people's comments. People has always laugh to the person who had did the first thing ever, people had called him mad who want to fly in the air when the airplane was not invented. Steve Job (the founder of Apple) was terminated from the Apple. We have many examples in front of us.
The best example is of Prophet Muhammad who had to leave his city Makkah, due to the oppression of the opponents, later he entered the city as a winner! Indeed he is the best example for all of us.
Keep Winning

Modesty is the best Policy!

The vehicle accidents are increasing everyday, maybe people don't actually know the reasons, or maybe don't want to know about the reasons. Well, it will be interesting to know the two things going to be related in lines below.

The sign boards overall the places in Karachi are flooding with the pictures of women, showing dresses, in shameless styles and poses. This seems like when you are using internet you get lot of spam emails, messages and advertises unwanted. Similarly, these bill boards are creating such scenario, they are unwanted, annoying for a person travelling over the city, and a normal person had to counter such type of billboard every 30 seconds or less.
Generally, ethically, clothes are meant to cover body. But it seems like those clothes shown in the billboards are made to "show the body" rather than "cover the body". Well being a modest person, and living in a society which have values and modest traditions, a person might think that it seems more civilized to be in full cloth rather than half naked, well truthfully saying, you will never like to go to your office in shorts, or without shirt ? Would you? Never!
We should like for everyone else what we should like for us!
The sign boards are one of the strongest reasons behind the distraction of drivers. Taking notice of the ever-increasing number of road accidents, the government should take concrete action to ban these bill boards on first priority as they are the biggest cause of diversion of your concentration in driving. This will not only cause fewer accidents but also be a helping hand building a modest environment.
One thing more to be noted that most of the women in our societies hardly even visit these streets, if we have about 100 people in Shahrah e Faisal, only 6 of them might be women. Being a marketing student I think that, the advertisers should also notice that they are doing promotion on an incorrect place and targeting the irrelevant market. The correct area for marketing their product will be apparel markets rather than main roads and busy streets.
One last thing, remember what they say,
"If showing your body is modernization, then animals are the most modern of all."

Don’t give them fish, but teach them fishing!

If you have one rupee and a beggar in front of you, what will be the best use of that rupee? Well, some of you might think that the best use of money is to give it to the beggar so that he can eat something. But in actual the most constructive use of that rupee is to buy stuff for the beggar so that he may sell to make his earning, don't make more beggars or strengthen the habit of a beggar, but make him do work!
Don't give them fish, but Help them how to fish!
We have in front of us the example of our Holy Prophet, when a poor person met him and asked for help, Prophet asked him what he have, the man have a bowl and some household stuff, the Prophet hold both things in the crowd and ask them who will buy it, a person stood who bought the stuff and in exchange Holy Prophet bought an Axe for the man. He told the man to go to forest, cut and sell wood. A few times later the man came back and this time he was earning and was covering his expanses by himself.
Yesterday I saw a news headline in which the Government was going to distribute cash to some families, and they are proudly saying that they have distributed the certain amount and the remaining amount will be given shortly. Same thing we observed in the days of flood and the era after that. It seems like the government is giving them fish, instead of helping them how to fish.
The project might be more beneficial if the government might introduce an entrepreneur scheme in which the needy should be given microfinance credits as well as training to them how to set up a business. If it is done, it will not only help them in meeting their daily requirements, but will also increase their self-confidence, plus it will enhance the country economy. The economy goes up by more businessmen rather than by more beggars.
But, despite that the government is doing what they themselves do. The government itself is a beggar to the IMF and European nations, how can you expect someone who is begging himself do the opposite way.
The time has come for Pakistan to stand on its own feet, and this can only be done when an honest leadership will be elected. An honest and religious leadership is only capable of raising the standards of living of the people of Pakistan "not by donating them", but giving them what it takes to start their own way of earning.
Only then we will be able to say "We Are Alive Nation".
